Word Recall: how a round works

Read the aim of Word Recall, then make your first move. Identify new and previously seen words before losing three lives. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Identify the playing area and the controls you need. Look at what changes after your first action.

Included vocabulary and random repeats; a game, not a medical memory assessment.

Take a closer look while playing

Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Make the next step deliberately.

What counts as success

Identify new and previously seen words before losing three lives. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Follow this game’s rules rather than another version’s.

The playing sequence

  1. Read each displayed word.
  2. Choose New word or Seen before.
  3. Remember words from this round only.
  4. Three mistakes end the round.

How to use the controls

Click or tap one of the two answer buttons. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Contact us with the game and device if a control does not respond.

One way to understand the rules

PLANT seen earlier in the same round requires Seen before. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Check the stated objective.

A useful caution

A word from an earlier round does not count as seen now. Check the rule before repeating the action. Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow.
